September 2025
A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents, Fall has arrived, and change is in the air. The month of September typically sparks the transition from the lazy days of summer to the bustling activities of learning and personal growth. Well, this year isn’t any different! And in addition to everything else, our school is growing, and we need more space immediately to continue to expand, as ultimately we want to be able to offer Middle School to our students as well. Consequently, we purchased a Sprung Structure at the beginning of last year and we are now waiting to have our plans approved by the Zoning Dept. before we can move forward. In the meantime, we will continue to raise funds to help us not only erect the building at the beginning of next year, but to also build out the interior of this new facility, which will house classrooms for an additional 250 students, an auditorium to seat over 800 people and a banquet hall to handle over 300 guests. This two story building will be a benefit not only to our students, but to many families throughout the West Kendall area. A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL DIRECTOR’S CHAIR – DR. ESTELLE C. MYERS PAGE 3 The cost of this project is estimated at 3 million dollars. Our hope and prayer is that upon completing the new building, we will be able to enter it debt-free. This is why we will be having fundraising events throughout the year. Our first fundraiser is being sponsored by Ms. Barbie’s 4th Grade Class throughout the month of September. Each class will pick a month throughout the school year to sponsor fun activities for the students, while raising funds for our building. Last year, our classes were able to raise close to $10,000. Thursday, Sept. 4 , at 7 PM, will be the first meeting of our PTF meeting. We value your opinions and advice regarding the development process of our school. I do hope you will join our PTF and get involved with your child(rens) school events.

September also marks the first full month of school, and your children are doing an amazing job. As I visit each classroom, I am pleased to see their progress. We are also celebrating in this month’s newsletter, the Student of the Month and the Star Student for each class from their performance in August. Our Star Students are those who have been exhibiting those character traits of Reverence, Respect, and Responsibility throughout the month. The Student of the Month award is recognizing those students who are excelling intellectually in learning new academic skills. Students are generally recognized on the second Monday of each month during Chapel. For this month, recognition will take place next Monday, September 8: Elementary students (grades 1-6) at 8:45 AM, and Preschool Kindergarten students at 9:15 AM. Parents may attend, particularly if their child is receiving a certificate. At Lifted Academy our priority as teachers, parents, and leaders is to raise healthy children in all aspects of their development, but especially in regard to their spiritual development. We freely share with our students that God is our authority and that it is His truth, found in the scriptures, that we follow and teach. It is this same truth which forms our character and values which we live by every day. This is why we consistently reward our students for displaying godly character traits toward their peers and teachers, not only in our Awards Chapel, but daily throughout the school year. This is what makes our school different than most schools in our city, both secular and religious. What good is it to have an educated society that is falling apart? And while society doesn’t seem to want to address the socital and personal problems families face, we here at Lifted Academy do so by placing as much, if not more, value on developing the character within your child, as we do in providing excellence in academics. Ultimately, it is the child’s character that will affect his life not only today, but throughout eternity. In a society that seems to be morally bankrupt and lacking in sound judgment, it is all the more important that we have a strategy for leading our children down the right path in this life and the life to come. This is why our school motto is: “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6 While the Proverbs are not promising anything, they are principles that teach us that there are certain consequences to specific behaviors. Here we find that if parents, teachers, pastors are intentional in truly leading children down a godly path, their children will follow, even when they get older. On September 24th at 7 PM, I will be teaching a Parent Seminar on “Raising Leaders,” I do hope you will make every effort to attend. In the meantime, as we teach our children this month, may we be reminded of what true Christianity looks like: “This is true religion: to visit the orphans and widows in distress and to keep oneself unstained by the world.” — James 1:27 May God bless you all as you seek to put God first in all things. In His Service and Love,
Dr. Estelle C. Myers
