November 2025
A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
We have so much to be grateful for in our school, our church, and our nation. November is characterized as a month of thanksgiving, culminating in the largest holiday in the U.S., which is Thanksgiving. And while it is wonderful for everyone to say what they are thankful for in their families around the dinner table, it is far more important that we remember “who” we are to give thanks to — for all that we have, for all that we are, and for all that God will accomplish in our lives.
“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” Psalm 136:1
God is truly so very good to His people. Considering the progress of our school over the last 17 years, we are so very grateful to Him for all that He has accomplished here in West Kendall. We have grown from 12 to 130 students — from a
preschool/daycare center to becoming an elementary campus through 6th grade — and now
we are getting ready to build a new facility that will triple our size God is truly so very good to His people. We are also so grateful for you, our parents, who have been so very supportive of our school and so involved in your children’s education. You are to be commended for putting your children into a Christian environment that teaches godly virtues
and character. Thank you for your constant love and participation throughout the years.
“I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing praises to you among the nations.” Psalm 108:3–5
Thanksgiving was originally established in this country to bring our nation together to remember to give thanks to our God for His goodness and faithfulness in our lives. The Pilgrims experienced the grace of God firsthand in simply surviving the dangerous voyage from England across the Atlantic to come to a new land where they could worship God freely. Despite all
odds, they were able to survive the worst weather and illness they had ever experienced. But because of the grace of God in their lives, they not only survived the journey but thrived in this new land
they would call America. We too, like the Pilgrims, may be grateful for our freedoms in this country — freedom of religion,
freedom of speech, freedom to vote in new leadership without bloodshed, and the freedom to pursue life, liberty, and happiness.

I believe that character traits such as love, gratitude, and compassion are caught and not just taught. This is why we give multiple opportunities for our children to have “hands-on” experiences in displaying gratefulness in their own
lives. This month, we have several ways for your child to actively show an “attitude of gratitude” both at school and at
home: Thanksgiving Baskets: Take your child shopping and pick up extra canned or dry goods to donate. Operation Christmas Child: Pick up a shoebox at the front desk and fill it with toys to give away to other children. Canvas Painting Field Trip (Nov. 19):Students will paint canvases that will be sent to local hospitals to cheer up
children with cancer. These are just a few opportunities that help children understand not just why we give, but how we can give back to others. This Thanksgiving, I pray that you truly take the time to lead your families to thank God for all that He has done for us. Let’s not get caught up in the world’s viewpoint of Thanksgiving, but rather celebrate who this day was really designed to celebrate. Take the time to thank the Lord for His goodness in our lives and give Him the glory for all that
He has done. Regardless of your circumstances this Thanksgiving, please remember Paul’s words:
“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
1 Thessalonians 5:16–18
May God richly bless you all, and may you have a truly Happy Thanksgiving!
With gratitude,
Dr. Estelle C. Myers
